Friends,
My core value of public service, and why I ran for Governor, comes from a lesson my dad used to tell me: You need to leave your community better than you found it.
As a GM line worker, he taught me that it takes hard work and grit. Those lessons were what I used to work my way through college, build my own business from scratch here, and raise my two girls as a single dad in this community.
I believe in the power of opportunity. Nevada has been a place of opportunity for myself and my family, and I ran to make our state a place of opportunity for everyone -- no matter who you are or where you’re from.
And folks, I’m damn proud of what we’ve accomplished so far.
During my time as Nevada governor, we’ve fought back against state Republicans’ relentless attempts to suppress the vote and undermine our democracy. And then, we permanently expanded mail-in voting.
We’ve banded together to overcome the GOP’s reckless handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring folks had personal protective equipment and ample access to the vaccine.
We stood with labor unions and workers during this unprecedented moment by rebuilding an economy that uplifts working families and guaranteed a return to lost jobs.
We’ve increased access to public health services by becoming only the second state to pass a Public Health Insurance Option and increased funding for public education so that every child has an opportunity to succeed.
But, our progress will come to a screeching halt if we don’t keep Nevada blue this next election. Election experts have ranked Nevada as one of the states most at-risk to flip red, and National Republicans are spending millions to make that a reality.
So I’m asking for your help to continue building a stronger Nevada and keep our battleground state blue. Can I count on to chip in $5 to my re-election campaign? →
Thank you for your support,
Steve
