With Tropical Storm Elsa projected to impact Florida, I want to provide some information and resources regarding storm preparation.
First, if you or someone you know needs a safe place to take shelter, there are currently three publicly run shelters in Hillsborough County. Additional shelters will open as needed.
Next, as you prepare for the storm, sandbags will be available to the public and can be picked up from three locations within Hillsborough County. All locations open Monday, July 5 at 8:00 AM.
Lastly, click here to visit the Prepare Florida website to review their emergency preparedness toolkit. The toolkit includes a comprehensive, step-by-step process for storm preparation and response.
For more timely updates, click here to follow me on Twitter and click here to visit the newly created Hurricane Center on our website.
Stay safe, check in with your family and friends, and if you need assistance, please call my office at (813) 657-7781.
Thank you,
