Happy Birthday, America!!

Dear John,

Happy Independence Day and happy birthday to America!

As you and your friends and family are celebrating the holiday weekend at the lake, in your back yard, or at a favorite park in your neck of the woods, I want to encourage you to take a moment to consider the blessings we enjoy living in the greatest nation in the world. America is the land of the free because we are the home of the brave. I’m thankful for all of the men and women who served and who are serving to ensure our freedoms and liberties are preserved.

While I could not join every Independence Day community celebration in the Great Eight congressional district this weekend, I was proud and grateful to visit with so many of you in Tower, Aurora, Gilbert, Pequot Lakes, and Brainerd! May God bless you and may he continue to bless our great land!!

Critical Race Theory

What I witnessed this weekend across our great district was Minnesotans from all walks of life who are proud to be Americans and embrace the patriotism of our great country. That’s why it’s disappointing that some are suggesting our public schools consider a curriculum that includes critical race theory. I couldn’t disagree more. Critical race theory doesn’t belong in our schools and indoctrination in our classrooms of racial hierarchy is reprehensible. We were created equally in the eyes of God and should embrace that rather than encourage further divisiveness.

Washington Must Stop Spending Money It Doesn’t Have

One of the founding principles of my campaign for Congress was a frustration that Washington keep spending money it doesn’t have. Last week, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released its Updated Budget and Economic Outlook for the next decade, projecting the national debt to reach a new record of 106.4 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 2031. CBO projects deficits will total $3.0 trillion in 2021 and $12.1 trillion over the subsequent decade under current law. Economics is complex, but what ails our country is not: Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi cannot spend our way into an economic recovery. Read more here [[link removed]].

Isanti Rodeo and Jubilee Days Parade is Thursday!

Even though our campaign hit six parades over the Independence Day weekend, we aren’t done yet!
