Hello,
America is not just a country -- it's a promise.
The Nation we celebrate on July 4th is one where we believe that every person is created equal and has certain inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It is a place founded on fundamental democratic ideals meant to be a beacon of hope in the world.
Generation after generation, our fellow Americans put their lives on the line and died in the fight for your right to vote, both overseas and within our own borders. They knew that your vote -- the keystone of our democracy -- must be defended and expanded.
Yet today, 245 years after the birth of our Nation, your right to vote is under renewed attack. State legislatures have reduced voting hours, restricted how you can vote, gerrymandered legislative districts, and left our Nation open to foreign interference.
Bob and his colleagues introduced the For the People Act to defend your sacred right to vote and to ensure we fulfill the promise of our great Nation. Unfortunately, Senate Republicans have denied us the chance to even debate this critical law.
So today, on Independence Day, Bob is asking you to fight back for your right to vote. Will you join us in supporting the For the People Act?
Together, we can build the support we need to enact:
- Same-day voter registration that helps students and new citizens vote
- Nationwide online voter registration
- The chance to vote at least 15 days early, on your schedule
- Securing our elections from foreign interference
- Non-partisan redistricting to prevent politicians from choosing their voters
Will you show Congress that the fight for our democracy isn't over? Join us in supporting the For the People Act this Independence Day.
Thank you, and happy Independence Day to all,
Team Casey
