Happy 4th of July! Today is a great day to enjoy time with friends and family, watching fireworks, and hosting cookouts. It’s also a day to recognize the history and strength of our great democracy.

Long ago, our country fought hard for independence and democracy. While celebrating the progress our nation has made, it's important that we uphold these values every day.

I hope you take a few moments today to think about what a truly democratic America means to you and the small actions you can take to make sure that vision comes to life.
