I hope that everyone is having a wonderful and safe Fourth of July weekend!

As we celebrate our Independence today, I’ve been spending some time reflecting on what it truly means to be independent.

Ronald Reagan once said:

“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same."

Californians have certainly been feeling somewhat less than “free” during the pandemic, and families have lost a lot because of it. Children were kept out of schools, businesses shuttered for good, and life moments were lost that can never be regained.

But I know that we can restore California’s promises of freedom, equality, and opportunity. I know we can bring a California Comeback, and hand that freedom on to our children for them to protect themselves someday.

How ever you are celebrating Independence Day today, I hope you will join me in the fight to keep California FREE from the tyranny of the radical left.
