Happy Fourth of July, friend!

As you probably know, my hometown of Bristol holds the oldest Fourth of July parade in the nation -- beginning in 1785.

I have fond memories of the Fourth of July parade from when I was growing up as a kid in Bristol. My first job in politics was actually serving as the youngest member of the Fourth of July Committee when I was 18 years old.

Even last year, Bristol kept the tradition going strong, with a smaller, socially distanced parade.

Today we reflect on the promise of our nation and the work ahead to build a more equitable country for all. As we recover from the pandemic, we also have to focus on rebuilding the American dream in our state and country.

This year, the parade will be back in full force, and I'm excited to join everyone for a celebration of our nation and the freedom we continue to fight for every day.

No matter how you decide to celebrate today, I wish you and yours a happy and safe Fourth of July.

Thank you,

Seth
