| Friend, Today is a day of celebration and profound gratitude. The Fourth of July reminds us of the tremendous courage of our founding fathers and the great democratic experiment that is the United States of America. Our country is now the gold standard of democracy in the free world, and on this day we celebrate the triumphant progress of our strong nation. “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”  In 1776, the Continental Congress declared that the thirteen colonies were no longer subject to the rule of Britain. The Declaration of Independence set the precedent for open dialogue, fair representation, and the very principles that have brought the United States of America to the forefront of the global stage.
