Friend,

You are probably gearing up to enjoy Independence Day festivities with your family, so I’ll keep this short.

I wanted to take a brief moment to reflect on what today is really all about. It isn’t the fireworks, parades, and cookouts, although all those things make for a fun celebration.

No, today is about the core principle our nation was founded upon - freedom.

Freedom from government oppression. Freedom for each and every American to make decisions about what’s best for their family. Freedom to speak our minds and worship freely without fear of being punished.

Freedom is our most precious gift, and we must do whatever it takes to protect it.

So today, as we enjoy a big slice of apple pie and watch fireworks light up the night sky, let us remember what this celebration is truly about after all.
