Dear friend,
As we celebrate Independence Day in the United States, we want to make one thing clear: Access to safe, legal reproductive health care—including abortion—is critical for individuals, families, and communities to thrive. But across the U.S., our reproductive rights are under threat.
The U.S. Supreme Court recently announced it will review our case challenging a Mississippi abortion ban after just 15 weeks of pregnancy. This ban unquestionably violates nearly half a century of Supreme Court precedent and is a test case to overturn Roe v. Wade.
While abortion is still legal in all 50 states, anti-abortion lawmakers continue to try to legislate abortion care out of existence—even while Roe remains intact. Abortion is a constitutional right, but that means nothing if you cannot access it. We won't stop fighting until everyone has access to the vital reproductive health care they need and deserve.
We're so grateful to have you standing with us as we continue to fight for our most basic, fundamental liberties on Independence Day, and every day.
In solidarity,
Center for Reproductive Rights
