Have you heard them in your neighborhood, John? Fireworks are a true sign of summer, especially on July 4th. Backyard BBQs and family picnics are sure to follow.
Unfortunately, there is a more insidious sign of summertime: increased shootings. And with 2021 on track to be the deadliest year for gun violence in recent memory, it has never been more urgent to take lifesaving action – and the Senate can do that right now.
The House passed legislation to expand and strengthen Brady Background Checks months ago, and we have to show our Senators that we are done waiting – we want to celebrate a safe country, not a deadly one. Please, John, will you add your name and urge the Senate to pass expanded Brady Background Checks NOW? We need 98 more names to have a statistically significant response from your area. Experts know that there is a strong correlation between heat and crime. Each summer we see a spike in gun violence, and this year is no different. What’s worse is that July 4th itself is one of the deadliest days of the year, each year. John – it doesn’t have to be like this.
That’s why Brady is fighting with everything we’ve got against NRA-backed politicians and their deadly agenda – but we can’t do it with all of our supporters raising their voices: Add your name now and demand that the Senate pass expanded background checks and finally save lives. >> [[link removed]]
Summer doesn’t have to be deadly, but change will only come with your help. Thank you and happy fourth.
