John,
Republican Senators filibustered the For the People Act, the critical reform bill to save our democracy, because they want to keep the system rigged for their toxic billionaire donors.
So we’re FIGHTING BACK.
We’ve called, texted, shared our stories, and campaigned nationally to pass S1, the For The People Act.
And during the ongoing Senate recess we’ve joined the critically important Deadline for Democracy push to pass S1.
Click to join or organize an event near you to call on Senators to save our democracy.
Then, join the Toxic Tour to call out Senators who sell out our democracy!
Can’t join an in-person event? Help make calls to West Virginia, or support our big push with a small donation.
Here’s the thing: We’ve never been closer to passing critical reforms to save our democracy. S1, the For The People Act, is a once-in-a-generation reform bill that would stop voter suppression, end gerrymandering, and finally take on the toxic influence of big money in politics.
And because of national grassroots pressure, Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia voted to advance debate in the Senate on S1. This is a HUGE victory.
But EVERY Republican Senator joined Mitch McConnell to filibuster this historic democracy legislation. They refused to even talk about reform, or the state of our democracy, on the floor of the Senate.
So we’re fighting back. We won’t let their toxic dark money stop us from passing reform.
With Senators on recess and back in their home states, NOW is our biggest chance to get their attention. We’re calling on ALL Senators to do the right thing and pass S1. We’re demanding that Senate Democrats abolish the Jim Crow filibuster and pass S1 and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. And we’re calling out Senators who choose to sell out our democracy.
This summer is our most critical push ever. We hope you’ll join us - because together we’ll clean up corruption and SAVE our democracy.
Thank you for all you do,
-HAZMAT America
