The new owner of Nestlé’s water operation, BlueTriton Brands, is snapping up water rights across the country.

In states like Arkansas, Colorado, and Florida, BlueTriton is securing permits previously held by Nestlé so it can continue to drain millions of gallons of waters from our aquifers and sell it back to us.(1,2,3)

We are not going to let that happen in California. BlueTriton is asking the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) to renew Nestlé’s permit for the San Bernardino Forest, and we’re going straight to the USFS to let the agency know that thousands of Californians want to keep BlueTriton OUT of our water supply.

California is facing one of the worst droughts in our history. It’s so severe that California farmers have been warned that they may not be able to water their crops later in the summer.(4)

Reservoir are running dry. Forests are red and scorched.(5)

And yet BlueTriton is still pulling millions of gallons of water out of the San Bernardino Forest, with no intention to stop -- despite the cease-and-desist order from the California State Water Resources Control Board.(6)

BlueTriton is using an expired permit to pull more than 25 times the original designated limit of water out of the ground for $12,000 a year.(7) And considering it paid Nestlé $4.3 billion for its bottling company in North America, BlueTriton will do anything possible to keep stealing our water.(8)

Courage California has joined a coalition of advocacy groups to stop BlueTriton from stealing our water. We are going to stage a public petition delivery and action outside the U.S. Forest Service to defend our most precious resource.
