[1]Cori Bush

John,

Months ago, Cori and Rep. Ayanna Pressley led their colleagues in sending
a letter calling on President Joe Biden to end federal executions for
good.

The death penalty is an immoral and racist practice that has no place in
our country. Cori understands that abolishing the death penalty is a
critical step towards transforming our unjust criminal-legal system —
that’s why she has made it a key priority in her legislative work.

This week, the Department of Justice announced it will suspend all federal
executions. It’s a good start, but we know it’s not enough.

A death penalty moratorium is only temporary. It’s what we had before
Trump. He ended it and went on a 13-person death row killing spree. On the
campaign trail, Joe Biden promised to end the death penalty — and we
intend to hold him to that promise.

We’re making progress, but we need to keep up our momentum to make sure
Joe Biden keeps his promise. [ [link removed] ]Will you make a $5

work so we can end the death penalty for good?

The death penalty is inhumane, and the time is now to end its use for
good. Our criminal-legal system should never take a life.

Cori has been hard at work building momentum to abolish the death penalty
and to transform public safety systems in our communities so we can
finally end the cycle of state-sanctioned violence that too often kills
Black and brown people.

Thanks to the help of grassroots supporters like you,
John, we’ve been able to push
the needle on these issues. Last night’s news is a powerful reminder of
why we do this work and why we must continue fighting for transformational
change.

fights and make sure this administration lives up to their promise to end
the death penalty in America.

Let’s do this,

Team Cori
