This July 4th, urge President Biden:
Declare independence from oil & gas climate pollution!

Dear John,

As you know, we need to quickly slow global warming to prevent climate catastrophe.

One of the quickest ways to do that is to eliminate methane pollution, which is 86 times more powerful than carbon dioxide, and stays in the atmosphere for much less time. If we stop emitting methane today, we would see the positive impacts in just over a decade.

Oil and gas production is the United States’ largest industrial methane polluter and so eliminating that pollution is perhaps the most urgent climate challenge we face. While the challenge is urgent the solution is within reach. Candidate Joe Biden promised to reduce oil and gas methane pollution, and take bold action on climate. Now, President Joe Biden needs to deliver.

For the sake of our planet, our communities, and our future generations we are urging him to meet this unprecedented challenge with bold leadership. Will you join us?

Sincerely,

Lauren Pagel, Policy Director
