Africa & Europe
Praise God for the rescue of three boys in Ghana who were identified as victims of trafficking and forced to work for a fisherman mending nets, bailing water and pulling in the day’s catch on Lake Volta. During the removal of the children from exploitation, members of the community threatened to attack the rescue team, but police were able to maintain control of the situation to protect staff and the rescued children. Praise God for his protection and pray for the children as they begin receiving care at a temporary shelter.
Latin America
Continue praying for Latin America and the Caribbean as COVID-19 cases worsen, health agencies continue to struggle to provide critical care and governments struggle to secure vaccines.

According to Reuters, there have been one third more deaths caused by COVID-19 in the Latin America and the Caribbean region than in Asia and Africa combined. The end of the pandemic “remains a distant future,” according to the Pan American Health Organization. Pray for safety and health for our staff, partners and the survivors we serve, and pray also for all justice system officials as they continue to respond to cases of violence.
South Asia
Please pray for a legal case we are supporting against a major international trafficking suspect. This man allegedly ran a large and well-connected sex trafficking ring between multiple countries and may have exploited over 250 girls and young women. IJM helped police arrest him in October 2018 and recently supported the arrest of several of his accomplices. Please pray for God’s favor in the upcoming trial, especially amid pandemic lockdowns. Pray we help present undeniable evidence, for a wise and victim-sensitive judge and for a strong judgment in this case.
Southeast Asia
Praise God for the 20th anniversary of IJM Philippines on June 30! Please pray for the staff, that they would be encouraged and refreshed as they celebrate another milestone of God’s work of justice in the Philippines.
