As an impeachment manager against Donald Trump, I can tell you we desperately need an investigation to get to the bottom of what happened on January 6th.

Senate Republicans refused to open a Commission, so my colleagues and I in the House passed a resolution to open our own bipartisan investigation into what was one of the most reprehensible attacks on our democracy in American history.

Most Republicans don’t want to touch this with a ten foot pole, because they know as well as the rest of us what happened on that day, and they want us all to forget it but I’m telling you right now: we’re not going to let that attack go without an investigation. There will be full accountability. We have to make sure it never happens again.
