Book Review: A Political History Of The ACA
In a book review featured in the June issue, Timothy Stoltzfus Jost discusses The Ten Year War, a history of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) by Jonathan Cohn.

The Ten Year War is divided into three parts. The first describes earlier efforts at health reform, the second covers the drafting and legislating of the ACA in the House and Senate from 2008 to 2010, and the third deals with Republican efforts to take apart the ACA from 2010 to 2017.

“Cohn has produced the most readable and comprehensive history of the ACA yet available—a must-read for anyone who wants to understand this history,” writes Jost.

Alongside Jost’s review, we are revisiting the DataGraphic from the March 2020 thematic issue, The Affordable Care Act Turns 10.

DataGraphic: The Affordable Care Act Turns 10
Today on Health Affairs Blog, Kendra Walsh and Jeffrey Bratberg argue that converting naloxone to over-the-counter status, combined with sustainable public funding, is a starting point that could begin to turn the tide against the opioid crisis.
