Happy Independence Day!

Texas Values wishes you and your loved ones a happy and blessed Independence Day.  We are blessed to live in the great state of Texas, but we have seen that even here, our freedoms are being threatened more than ever before.  Ronald Reagan said in 1967, “Freedom is a fragile thing and it's never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by way of inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people.  And those in world history who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again.”  Texas Values fights every day to protect the freedom to worship and live according to our values on human dignity and the protection of the family.  Let’s celebrate this July 4th ever mindful of the sacrifices of those who have come before us who have won for us the freedoms we enjoy and renew our commitment to defend our freedoms and preserve them for future generations.

Special Session Taking Place Next Week

Last week, Gov. Greg Abbott announced July 8 as the Special Session Date.  Gov. Abbott’s office has not yet released what legislative priorities will be included, however, Texas Values is urging him to protect women from the unfair competition of biological males on women’s sports and protect children from harmful gender transition procedures and treatments. These issues remain unresolved from the Legislature’s regular session and we are requesting that they be included in the special session agenda.
