Dear John,

Powerful fiscal hawks in Washington, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, continue to fight tooth and nail to stop any legislative effort to make the wealthiest in our country pay their fair share of taxes or hold Big Pharma accountable for their unfair drug pricing policies.

For years opponents of Social Security and Medicare have perpetuated the lie that your earned benefits take too much from the budget — and that these programs need “saving” — when the truth is simply this: Tax breaks, including write-offs for billionaires, millionaires and large corporations, account for the largest part of the federal budget. More than Social Security — and far more than Medicare and Medicaid combined.

And they are pulling out all the stops to protect deficit-busting tax cuts for the wealthy by attacking America’s social safety net and blocking much-needed improvements.

As the budget process heats up in Washington, we must make our voice heard above so-called “fiscal hawks” in Congress who are suddenly feigning concern about the deficits and who have “other” plans for Social Security and Medicare!

If we can succeed in making Congress and the Biden Administration listen to us NOW, then we stand an excellent chance of improving the social insurance safety net programs that you and millions of other Americans have paid into, earned and are counting on in retirement. So please sign our Urgent Petition today!

I hope I can count you with us in this critical fight for the future of Social Security and Medicare!

Sincerely,

Max Richtman
President & CEO
