. Happy Fourth! Take some time this weekend and enjoy the beauty of our home. Hi John,
What summer adventures do you have planned for the holiday weekend?
We have staff exploring the Northwoods, hiking and camping in Door County, paddling the Wisconsin River, and, of course, just relaxing in our parks and backyards with a beverage in one hand and a spatula in the other. We’re celebrating this wonderful place this weekend, taking some time to rest and reflect and get outside (unless that 90-plus degree heat says otherwise). We hope you will be, too.
This is a wonderful time of the year in Wisconsin. These summer days are a reminder of how special our natural environment is here. From a desert in Spring Green, to a “New England coastal town” vibe in Bayfield – Wisconsin has so much to offer us.
The threats to our environment and democracy remain, certainly, with increased attacks especially on our right to vote. However, light abounds. With the Biden Administration’s efforts to pass an infrastructure plan that addresses inequity and climate change and with recent clean energy victories in local communities and in state courts, you are driving progress on the issues that matter most to you.
With so much happening and so much accomplished, you deserve a little time to remind yourselves what you’re fighting for and why. If that means a dip in your favorite lake, a hike to your favorite scenic vista, or just a long nap in a backyard hammock – we encourage you to have a happy Independence Day.
