As you saw in yesterday’s daily newsletter, Big Tech is out of control.

Yesterday, Facebook sent out a warning to users branding some of them as viewers of white supremacist content. This warning was even sent to some of our Accuracy in Media staff. And I know darn well they don’t have a hateful bone in their bodies.

Facebook personally sent me a message asking if I was concerned that someone I know is “becoming an extremist.” Why? Because friends of mine posted patriotic news stories before Independence Day? This is disgusting, and you and I must fight back.

Going up against a huge tech company like Facebook isn’t going to be an easy or short process. Our team at Accuracy in Media is dedicated to holding big tech accountable, but I must ask for your support.

Facebook isn’t the only big tech company overreaching its power. Google also recently announced that they will be marking links as “unreliable” when searching for current event updates. 

You and I already know how easily manipulated those results will be. Even if you and I continue holding the media accountable, Google will make sure the public never sees it. These companies are quickly gaining more control over our lives than our own elected government.
