This morning the U.S. Supreme Court announced it will hear IJ’s potentially landmark case, Carson v. Makin, challenging a Maine law that bans families from an otherwise generally available educational choice program if they choose to send their children to schools that provide religious instruction. This case will build on and strengthen our 2020 high court win in Espinoza v. Montana Department of Revenue to ensure that parents can choose the best education for their children.

This has been a decades-long effort, and this case presents an opportunity to resolve what the U.S. Constitution has to say about educational choice programs. Our last Supreme Court win increased the number of programs throughout the country; a victory here will do the same.

This will be IJ’s tenth case at the high court. Oral argument is yet to be scheduled but will be in the 2021-2022 Court term.

This past year has shown just how important it is that all families have educational options to meet their children’s unique needs and circumstances. Please help us make this happen for even more families with a donation now. <[link removed]>

Happy Fourth to all!
