Friend,
Just last week, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced the Justice Department is suing Georgia over its new voting restrictions that unfairly deny and limit the rights of Black voters.
Georgia has been ground zero for voter suppression tactics since the Jim Crow era. From closing polling places in primarily Black areas to aggressive purging of voter rolls, these newest voting restrictions are just another tactic from the Republican voter-suppression playbook.
Republican-held state legislatures are testing the boundaries of the Voting Rights Act in an attempt to stay in power — so we must push Congress to act!
It’s time Congress ends the filibuster, a Jim Crow-era procedural tool that prevents the Senate from passing common-sense legislation with a simple majority, and passes S. 1, the For the People Act.
Our grassroots supporters have already taken direct action to push Congress to protect our voting rights, but we can’t let up the pressure now! Will you help NextGen continue fighting voter suppression and other efforts to mobilize the #youthvote across the country by donating $10, $25, or whatever you can afford today?

The For the People Act would help establish national protections to stop state legislatures from suppressing voter turnout and ensure our government is duly elected by the people, for the people.
With your donation, NextGen can continue funding calls to action nationwide. Help us send a clear message to Senate Democrats that now is the time to act, end the filibuster, and protect our voting rights.
Help NextGen mobilize the #youthvote across the country by donating whatever you can today.
