Friends,
This week, I spoke on the floor of the House of Representatives to call on the Biden Administration to do more to keep our promise to Afghan interpreters who were crucial to our American forces fighting overseas. I also passed legislation to ensure unincorporated communities - like Tamina, right outside our district - have access to adequate water infrastructure.
Helping constituents with problems they are having with federal agencies continues to be a top priority for me in Congress. I help veterans get the care they need at the VA, seniors with Social Security and Medicare, and people having passport trouble before they head on vacation. If you are having trouble with a federal agency, please do not hesitate to reach out to my office. I have a full team in Texas and in the nation's capital ready to help.
Sincerely,

This week I spoke in favor of the Hope and Allies Act, which would help Afghan interpreters who helped Americans like me bring the fight to terrorists.
Raqman - the interpreter for my SEAL team who was killed by the IED that took my eye - and countless Afghan interpreters like him were invaluable to our mission. They should not be stranded, fighting for their lives and the lives of their families, as we hastily exit the country.
This administration needs to do more to ensure their safety and process their visas.
This week, the House of Representatives passed my amendment to help improve water infrastructure for a community right outside our district - Tamina, Texas - as part of a larger water infrastructure package.
Tamina is a historically black community, founded in 1871 and located right outside my district, which has lacked access to water for decades. We are talking access in the most basic of terms: access to wastewater treatment, drinking water, and reliable, consistent infrastructure that allows them to access clean water for things we all take for granted.
Unincorporated communities like Tamina would have been left behind, once again, as the original bill excluded unincorporated communities from funding. I'm glad the House passed my amendment to ensure communities like Tamina are able to access this aid.

Iran is the greatest destabilizing force in the Middle East. China is waging an economic and information war against the western world. How should the United States confront each of these distinct threats to the global order? Secretary Mike Pompeo joins me to share the Trump Administration's approach and a behind-the-scenes look at the Soleimani Strike, the Abraham Accords, and checking the Chinese Communist Party's escalating aggression.
Sec. Pompeo served as Secretary of State for President Trump from April 2018 to Jan 2021. Prior to serving at State, he was the Director of the CIA and represented Kansas’ 4th Congressional District between 2011 and 2017.
