Hey --

In 2010, President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act (ACA) into law. It was monumental legislation that gave millions of Americans peace of mind and access to quality healthcare.

But the truth is, the ACA could be a lot better. It still has gaps in coverage and hasn't fully addressed the astonishing cost of healthcare in this country. That's why were going to fix it.

I'd like our country to build off the groundwork laid by President Obama and expand upon the ACA. I believe Medicare for all is a fantastic idea, but we'll need to make some serious improvements before it is an option. In short, our campaign supports a public option, we'll empower Medicaid to negotiate drug prices with pharmaceutical companies, and put an immediate end to the privatization of Medicaid.

So, do you believe we should build on Obamacare to make healthcare more affordable for Iowans and working families across the country?

YES

NO

The ACA has been a great first step. But the Trump administration doesn't see it that way.

Two years to this day, Trump signed an executive order undercutting the ACA in an attempt to make it less effective. He did so under the guise of reducing costs for taxpayers. However, his real intent was to satiate his obsession of destroying Obama's legacy. It's more partisan politics plain and simple.

I believe that politics has no place in people's healthcare. I want one thing and one thing only, for every family to have access to the quality care they need and to not worry about the bill. What we need is compassion and understanding, not politics.

I'm dedicated to delivering quality, affordable healthcare to every American -- but I want to know what you think. Can you please take this one-question poll?

Thank you,

Eddie Mauro
