Hi Friend,

🚨ALERT:🚨The House passed, in a 221-201 vote, a NEW “infrastructure” bill today.

According to Politico, this is a “mammoth surface transportation-focused bill" that creates a “third lane in President Joe Biden’s existing maze of infrastructure talks.”

But like the horse race that’s been controlling the previous infrastructure talks—where some Democrats are trying to force through a separate fluff bill that funds every random thing they consider “infrastructure”—this bill includes funding for climate change initiatives, including more than $8 billion for carbon pollution reduction and $4 billion for electric vehicles.

Do you think the infrastructure package should include NON-infrastructure-related items?

As Politico notes, “It’s the latest twist in months of convoluted talks about what Congress can actually achieve on one of Biden’s top priorities.”

But congressional leaders think this bill gives Congress a more realistic path forward to getting an infrastructure package signed into law… and in a bipartisan way.

We’ll see how it plays out…
