BREAKING: UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT UPHOLDS RACIALLY DISCRIMINATORY VOTING LAWS.

John — As we prep for the long 4th of July weekend, we are confronted by the reality of two Americas :

The America that touts that we are the land of the free.

And the America that has historically and systemically suppressed the voices and votes of women and people of color.

Today, the Supreme Court upheld restrictive voting laws in Arizona . And, earlier this month, the For the People Act — legislation that would put in place national standards to protect our freedom to vote and counteract the harmful voter suppression laws that have recently been passed in states like Georgia, Florida, and more — was blocked in the Senate.

But we’re not letting this — or any other setbacks — slow us down .

We are committed to fighting against oppressive systems on every level, and we need as many people as possible in this fight . John, chip in $15 today and support our ongoing efforts to engage underrepresented women of color voters and ensure we have the protections needed to cast our ballots [[link removed]] . We know that when women of color vote, we build a better world .

In fact, a wave of restrictive laws were passed in the years after the U.S. elected Barack Obama, its first Black president. This year’s attacks on our right to vote come on the heels of unprecedented voter turnout from communities of color, and are rooted in racist voter fraud allegations and a desire to silence our voices.

Let’s be clear, this is about so much more than elections — it's about lifetimes of discrimination, harassment, and racism that are exacerbated by a pandemic that is disproportionately taking the lives and jobs of people of color.

We believe that no matter where we live or what we look like, we all deserve the right to dignity, respect, and safety . And we all have a right to participate in a transparent, safe, and open election process so that we can elect leaders that reflect our values.

That’s why we've created a Voting Hub and a Voter Conversation Bot to answer people's questions in real-time and get everyone the information they need to vote.

It’s why we continue our voter registration drives, focusing on women who are often ignored by traditional electoral politics.

And, it’s also why we are putting everything we’ve got into making sure this administration passes a bold, just recovery plan that works for all of us.

We are determined to make the vision of a free, just, and equitable America a reality. Are you with us? John, chip in $15 today and ensure that no one – and nothing – makes it hard for us to cast our ballots and make our voices heard [[link removed]] .

Women of color have historically been the leaders of social and political movements and we are powerful .

If our voices and our votes didn’t matter, so many people wouldn’t be working so hard to silence us.

Together, we can work to shift hearts and minds and bring about the necessary reforms to make sure this country works for all of us .

Thanks for all that you do.
