I am writing to let you know that just a short while ago the Lieutenant Governor announced a recall election date of September 14, which means ballots will be mailed in just a few weeks.

Like I said the day we launched our campaign, I am not going to take this recall attempt lying down. I am going to fight, because there is too much at stake in this moment.

So today, given the news, I am asking you to join me:

Please use this link to let me know I can count on you to return your ballot with a vote against the Republican recall attempt when you receive your ballot in a few weeks.

First and foremost, I am not going to be distracted from the work we’re doing to move California forward. We’re opening our state, we’re getting checks to people’s homes, vaccinations in arms, our kids back to school, and we won’t stop now.

But this means I need your help defeating this Republican recall. And let’s call it what it is, a partisan, Republican recall backed by pro-Trump forces, national Republicans and anti-recovery extremists who have opposed much of what we’ve done to fight the pandemic.

They want to overturn our election win and stop our progress.

I am not going to be sidetracked. Ending this pandemic and continuing our state’s progress is too important to get reversed by a bunch of far-right Republicans.

But I cannot do it alone. I need to know you’re with me.

So far more than 500,000 Californians have told us they will vote against this recall. Let’s double that in the next few days.
