Our end-of-month deadline has officially passed. Thanks to all of you who chipped in, we reached our goal (and then some).
I know you have a lot of choices about how to spend your money, especially with summer underway and businesses opening back up. To everyone who made the choice to invest in our work now: Thank you.

As July begins, we mark a new chapter for our state and our country. Our economy is opening back up. Lives are returning to a new normal. Together, the choices we made over the last 18 months saved thousands of lives and made Washington state a model for the nation on how to respond to the pandemic.

But it wasn't easy. Far from it. So as we reopen, we will continue our charge to increase vaccination rates, while continuing to listen to the scientists and put the health and safety of our people first.

I want to extend an especially profound thanks to the health care workers, first responders, store clerks, teachers, and other essential workers who masked up, showed up, and saw us through this pandemic -- and we know your work isn't over. Thanks to you and the more than 150 million Americans (including millions here in Washington state) who've gotten vaccinated, we saved countless lives -- and as of yesterday, Washington state is officially, fully reopened for business.

It's been a long road to get to this point, but we did it together. Thank you for being on this journey with me and for all the progress you make possible.
