The Senate must pass the For the People Act without letting the filibuster stand in the way You may have seen news of today’s Supreme Court ruling, which severely undermines what’s left of the Voting Rights Act. This is a setback, but it’s not the end of the road -- and now it’s even more important that we pass the For the People Act this summer to ensure real representation for all, then work on reforms to the courts in the coming months.1 Read on below for more on how you can help right now.
Indivisibles,
We’re just four days into our Deadline for Democracy recess, and activists have already held dozens of events around the country to mobilize in support of the For the People Act and demand every senator take action.
This movement is just getting started -- there are more than 160 events on our map yet to go over the next two weeks, and more are added every day! This is exactly the kind of concerted pressure it’s going to take to make sure our senators hold fast to protect our democracy.
Activists are hosting events in 39 states plus D.C., and with today’s Supreme Court decision, it’s even more important that you be a part of the campaign to pass the For the People Act without letting the filibuster stand in the way. These are still the two absolute best ways you can make it happen:
- If you haven’t signed up for an event yet -- click here to view our map and RSVP to an event near you. Make sure to keep checking throughout the congressional recess, as organizers and volunteers are helping set up new events every day.
- Whether or not you can attend an event, you can click here to send a $10 donation to Indivisible to support all our work. From the half a million dollars we’re spending on all the materials and labor that make this recess happen, to our massive democracy reform plan, all our work relies on grassroots donors like you.

When Congress returns from recess, we’ll have only a few short weeks to hold their feet to the fire and make sure they pass the For the People Act in time for it to take effect before the 2022 midterms. That means the more pressure we build while senators are in their home states hearing directly from constituents, the better position we’re in to win real, bold change in July. Your support is crucial to making that possible, and we thank you for everything you do for this movement.
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
