I realize that you've gotten a lot of emails from our team sounding the alarm about our reproductive rights.
Well, John, we just got another stark reminder of the stakes in this fight:
In leaked footage, this is what Vice Chairman of the House GOP, Rep. Mike Johnson, had to say about Republican efforts to overturn Roe v. Wade:

"I've known Amy Coney Barrett since high school, we go way, way back, and I was one of the guys pushing Trump really really hard to put her on the court. I think Amy would author the opinion. I think she’d be willing to do it. And I think we’re gonna have at least five of those, if not all six, that will help us. If we overturn Roe, which I think is imminent… it goes back to the states. Then we have the real battle." |
This is exactly what we feared. And it's exactly what each of us on this Women's March team must come together to fight against.
With a Supreme Court stacked with conservative, Trump-appointed Justices, we have to be prepared to fight back in every state and every community across our country. That's why we must ask once again:
One of the most disturbing aspects of these leaked quotes from GOP leadership is that they're only a few House seats away from regaining their dangerous, anti-women majority. We can't let anti-women policies like these — things currently being said behind closed doors — become our reality on the floor of the House of Representatives.
John, we must make sure that Women’s March has the resources we need to build a nationwide reproductive justice campaign that will leverage the power of women to end these attacks.
