John,
Last year, Charles Booker shocked the nation. After getting outspent nearly 10-to-1 by a well-funded establishment campaign, Charles received our WFP endorsement and closed the polling gap by almost 40 points in 4 weeks to come just a few percentage points shy of a historic upset.
Earlier today, Charles just announced he’s officially running for United States Senate once again — this time against Rand Paul in Kentucky.
Our job today is to ensure Charles has a strong first 48 hours of fundraising to demonstrate to the pundits and our opponents that his campaign has the grassroots momentum required to win. Can you split a contribution between Charles Booker’s campaign and WFP on launch day to help us post big fundraising numbers?

Charles has lived the challenges working families face. He was born and raised in the west end of Louisville, in one of the poorest zip codes in the state. Even with food stamps and free lunch, Charles still sometimes went hungry. And after he found out he had Type-1 diabetes, there were times when his family had to ration his insulin just to survive. Last year he stepped up as a local leader in the fight to defend Black lives after the murder of Breonna Taylor in his hometown.
John, there has never been a Black person elected to federal office in Kentucky. Charles can change that. He’s a candidate with deep roots in the commonwealth — his ancestors were enslaved in and even lynched in Kentucky. Charles went on to serve as Kentucky's youngest Black state lawmaker in the State House. He’s as Kentucky as it gets.
The commonwealth of Kentucky is more competitive than you might think. It’s a state with a Democratic governor, for example. And, believe it or not, there are more registered Democrats in Kentucky than Republicans. We just need to run candidates who’ll inspire strong voter turnout by listening to and fighting for working families. Charles is our guy.
Before launch day is over, can you rush a split donation to Charles Booker and WFP to help us give this brand new campaign a boost right out of the gate?
Together, we can make history and elect a bold progressive leader who will fight for us in the U.S. Senate.
In solidarity,
