The Court just ruled in favor of voting restrictions in Arizona, giving the green light to the GOP to continue suppressing the voices of minority voters.

Today’s case, Brnovich v. Democratic National Committee, challenged two voting restrictions in Arizona under Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act:

Restriction 1: It prohibited people from returning completed ballots on behalf of neighbors and friends -- what many older folks and people living in rural areas and Indian reservations depend on.
Restriction 2: It invalidated any ballot that was not cast in the voter’s precinct -- even if the voter was still eligible to vote on a portion of that ballot (i.e., a vote to the president).

The 6-3 far-right Court sided with Arizona and upheld these restrictive laws, severely weakening the Voting Rights Act and making it easier for more red states to follow suit. A complete blow to democracy.

The only way to fight back is to add seats to the Supreme Court. This will restore balance and legitimacy to a bench tilted too far to the right -- and will ensure our constitutional right to vote is protected.
