July holiday [2]Vote Smart has activated a powerful new website that
enables citizens to instantly expose the factual records on thousands of
politicians. This website will be the latest and most powerful weapon
available to those citizens interested in the indisputable, factual records
on almost 40,000 elected political leaders and those campaigning to replace
them.

Called THE FACTS, this new tool has detailed biographical backgrounds on
40,000 politicians, as well as 63,077 issues positions, almost 1.5 million
key-word-searchable speeches, over 19,000 key votes described in simple,
easy-to-understand terms, ratings that 1,500 special interest groups have
given politicians, along with the sources of their major campaign
contributions.

During the 2020 election [3]Vote Smart discovered that over 12 million
(98.5%) of its users simply went directly to the facts on the candidates
they were uniquely interested in. So, Vote Smart has doubled down on
deepening research on politicians nationwide, giving citizens the ability
to see who they really are without all of the self-serving rhetoric from
political campaigns and selfish interests.

THE FACTS enables voters to pick any of 40,000 politicians and review Vote
Smart’s extensive factual database in any of six files – biographies, key
votes, issue positions, special interest ratings, public statements and
funding.

This new tool will be launched in early 2022 as election ballots are
