Dear Friends,
Everyone deserves the power to decide if, when, and under what circumstances to get pregnant and have a child. Yet this ability is largely dependent on whether people can get insurance coverage for the care they need. Due to restrictions on abortion coverage in annual government spending bills, abortion care is out of reach for some—often those who are doing their best to make ends meet.
The House of Representatives is currently working on their version of appropriations (spending) bills for the next fiscal year, and they need to hear from constituents like you. It’s time to tell your member of the House to pass spending bills without restrictions on coverage of abortion care.
Where a person lives, how they are insured, or how much money they earn should not determine whether or not they have access to abortion care. When people can make decisions about their own reproductive health care, including whether and when to have children, they have more control over their economic security.
If you believe everyone should be able to live, work, and make decisions about their lives with dignity and economic security, please contact your member of the House now.
