Two months ago, India revoked the autonomous status of Kashmir and imposed a communications and security blackout over the region. Reports of torture by the Indian army have surfaced, yet Nancy Pelosi has been silent. In fact, on the anniversary of Mahatma Ghandi’s birthday, October 2nd, she was careful to emphasize that support for Modi’s government in India was bipartisan.

She’s right. But that’s wrong.

Similarly, the US has funded and armed Saudi Arabia for decades, and enables its ongoing genocide in Yemen. In a bipartisan vote, Congress voted to rescind authority to support the Saudi regime, but our criminal president vetoed the Yemen war powers resolution and continues to enable human rights violations.

Finally, Trump’s ally in the Philippines, the brutal authoritarian Rodrigo Duterte, continues to wage a domestic terror campaign that has left tens of thousands dead. San Francisco native and US citizen Brandon Lee was targeted for political reprisal for his work defending human rights, and left in critical condition. Has Brandon‘s representative in Congress, Nancy Pelosi, said a word about the attack on his life?

Pelosi supports militarism across each of these various contexts, as well as U.S. support for brutal regimes abroad that undermine U.S. national security by abusing human rights.
