Keep Correcting Media Disinformation: Help FAIR Raise $15,000!
Dear FAIR Friend,
In a minefield of media misinformation and political propaganda, FAIR works to call out inaccuracies and spotlight the truth. With your help, we can continue this crucial work that keeps vital information accessible to all.
Every day at FAIR, we take a critical look into what the corporate press says—and doesn’t say—and how that framing affects our lives and our world. We believe stories should be told from the perspectives of the people most affected by them, NOT armchair think tank “experts” and pundits.
This work isn’t easy, and our small and dedicated team works hard. And, we’ve recently made the decision to pay our interns a living wage (instead of a stipend). This move aligns with our values and expands the number of talented young journalists and advocates who can participate in and learn from our program. Your continued support will help us maintain this living wage and shape the future media landscape for the better, in opposition to the corporations that continuously try to turn it into a handful of monopolies.
Thanks to our readers’ and listeners’ support, we’ve been able to cover a diverse array of topics, from the press refusing to acknowledge its detrimental effect on athletes’ mental health, to the New York Times’ close relationship with Amazon, to lack of immigrant representation in Sunday shows’ coverage of the southern border. We want to keep expanding the scope of topics we cover—and the people who have access to this powerful information!
When you donate to FAIR, you are acting as a media activist. You are standing up to the corporate press to shift power from the few to the many. And whether you can give $5 or $5,000, every bit gets us closer to our goal.
With gratitude,
Olivia Riggio, Jim Naureckas, Janine Jackson, Julie Hollar and Deborah Thomas
