John,
Gov. Greg Abbott recently signed Texas Senate Bill 1111 into law, which imposes stricter residency requirements for Texans trying to vote. The bill would require voters who rely on post office boxes to produce documents proving they have a physical address.
The premise of this bill is a fallacy and its real intent is clear: it’s designed to suppress voter turnout throughout the state. These requirements will disproportionately affect poor, minority, and college-age voters. It will be disastrous for those experiencing homelessness. Frankly, it's a blatant attempt at voter suppression and we won’t stand for it.
So first, we’re suing in federal court to block this ugly excuse for a law. It is an unacceptable violation of the right of all Americans to vote and take part in our democracy. We will fight to make sure every voter in Texas, and around the country, has access to the voting booth.
And second, we’re going to double down on our voter registration campaigns.
John, will you help us expand the vote (not suppress it) by contributing to our voter registration work in Texas and beyond?

This law is just an unnecessary set of steps that makes it harder for people to register to vote and practice the sacred franchise.
So if Texas Republicans want to attack our right to vote, Voto Latino will oppose them at every turn. That’s my promise to you.
Your next gift will help us register tens of thousands of voters, so please pitch in what you can.
