Over the past decade, weโ€™ve witnessed an enormous amount of progress on LGBTQ rights -- but we still have much more work ahead of us. Our rights are still under attack.

In eight out of nine of our target states, lawmakers are considering a total of 32 bills that would either directly discriminate against or restrict the rights of LGBTQ folks.

Most Americans donโ€™t support this discrimination and instead support equality and fairness. Most Americans just want leaders who will listen to the will of the people, pass popular legislation on issues like health care and climate change, and finally make it easier for everyone to have their voices heard in our democracy.

I believe the fight to end gerrymandering is interconnected with the work we still must do to protect and promote LGBTQ rights. Iโ€™m going to continue fighting for fair maps so we can elect leaders who will protect the rights of everyone in the country and stop state legislatures from passing bills to hurt marginalized communities, but I need you with me.

As lawmakers try to pass anti-LGBTQ legislation in almost all of our target states, will you consider making a donation today in honor of Pride Month? Weโ€™re fighting for a fair redistricting process because ending gerrymandering will have a direct impact on the ability of state legislatures to pass harmful bills targeting LGBTQ folks.

Our democracy is being undermined and marginalized communities are feeling the brunt of it. But if we can end gerrymandering, it will be easier for voters to hold politicians accountable when they try to pass laws that harm the LGBTQ community.

Gerrymandering allows partisan politicians to pass unpopular legislation without fear of political retribution by voters at the ballot box.

If we can have fair and competitive elections, it will be easier to elect leaders who will champion LGBTQ rights -- not ones that introduce dozens of bills to roll back progress. Will you make a donation right now to help continue fighting for fair redistricting?

As Pride Month comes to an end, Iโ€™m thinking about the road ahead. We should celebrate the hard fought victories that weโ€™ve accomplished together -- but also remember that we still must continue working to ensure everyone in this country is treated equal under the law.

Happy Pride Month,
Raffi
