Message from Acting President
Adrienne Kimmell
As the Supreme Court prepares to hear a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade , I’ve been blown away seeing NARAL members like you taking action. Thanks to the hard work of All* Above All and your actions, the discriminatory Hyde Amendment and other attacks on abortion were not included in federal funding bills — for the first time in DECADES. And the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) paused medically unnecessary restrictions on medication abortion — a safe and effective option for ending an early pregnancy — during the pandemic, expanding access to critical care. These outdated restrictions disproportionately harm people of color, people with disabilities, those in rural areas, and those working to make ends meet. With our fundamental freedom to make our own decisions about our lives and futures under attack like never before, we need the FDA to lift these restrictions permanently. We must keep fighting to create a future where freedom truly is for every body.

Policy Update
Hit the Road, Hyde!
Reproductive freedom champions in the U.S. House of Representatives introduced the first in a series of federal funding bills with NO abortion coverage bans or restrictions — meaning the discriminatory Hyde Amendment was not included for the first time in decades!
Thank you for all you do to fight for reproductive freedom. This major victory for reproductive freedom wouldn’t have been possible without your advocacy and the work of leaders in the reproductive justice movement!
Combating Disinformation
Anti-choice activists are seizing on a lack of public knowledge around medication abortion care to spread dangerous disinformation and advocate for medically unnecessary restrictions that limit access to care. To combat their lies, we need to turn up the volume on the truth: Medication abortion has been available for 20 years and the FDA has approved it as a safe and effective way to end an early pregnancy. The State of
Repro Freedom
ARIZONA
Medication abortion care is a safe and effective FDA-approved option for ending an early pregnancy. Nevertheless, states across the country have tried to push access to it out of reach. Arizona is one of 8 states this year to restrict the use of telemedicine for medication abortion care.
MAINE
In 2021, anti-choice legislators across the country have been spreading misinformation about medication abortion care. 6 states have enacted laws requiring providers to share stigmatizing, medically unproven information with their patients about medication abortion. But there is a bright spot — just this month, legislators in Maine defeated 2 similar bills!
FIGHT BACK
Every body should have access to medication abortion without having to jump through unnecessary hoops — during the pandemic and beyond.
Access to medication abortion is essential to reproductive freedom. Help fight to permantly lift unnecessary restrictions on medication abortion!
