John,
Today is a big day: It’s the last day of Q2, which means our fundraising deadline is in less than 10 hours from now. And since it’s the end of the quarter, we’ll have to file our fundraising numbers to the FEC, where they will be made public.
For better or for worse, people are paying attention to us (and our public reports!) to see how strong our movement to elect truth-tellers to Congress really is, which is why I’m asking you today:
If you've stored your info with ActBlue Express, we'll process your contribution between instantly:
John, I know our movement is strong. We support candidates who are running in some of the most competitive and critical elections in our nation. We know there’s no off-year in politics, which is why we work hard to make sure that the voices of working families and our communities are centered in Washington.
But for every member of this movement that believes in a more progressive future, there’s a corporate PAC or wealthy special interest that exists to uphold the existing status quo and work against our candidates.
If we fall short of our FEC fundraising goals tonight, those special interests could decide that our future candidates and our progressive movement are vulnerable. They’ll devote even more of their considerable resources toward attacking our movement, which could make our work over the next year even harder—especially when there are critical midterm elections at hand.
Thanks for all that you do,
Katie Porter
