Dear Friend,

The past year has been marked by change.

But because of supporters like you, we've stayed strong in our mission and achieved incredible victories for the public interest. Our national network has helped pass state bans on harmful single-use plastics, restore federal environmental protections, protect consumers from toxics, and more.

As we approach the end of this fiscal year and prepare for the one to come, it's more important than ever that we have the backing of public interest champions like you. You ensure that we have the critical resources to not simply remain consistent, but rather expand and strengthen our advocacy.

We're just a few hours away from the end of 2021 End of Fiscal Year Drive. Please review your member record and consider making a gift today.

Here's how your gift helps create a healthier, safer, more secure future. Your support of U.S. PIRG enables our team of canvassers, advocates and researchers to mobilize grassroots support, organize outreach to lawmakers, and conduct independent investigations.

Here are just some of the campaigns your gift will support:

* Move beyond plastic. Each year, approximately 15 million metric tons of plastic pollution fill the world's oceans. There, plastic doesn't degrade, but persists in the environment, posing a lasting threat. U.S. PIRG is tackling this crisis by campaigning to ban the worst single-use plastics and hold plastic manufacturers financially responsible for the waste their products create. Donate now >>

* Zero out toxics. We're working toward bans on Roundup and other glyphosate-based herbicides as well as PFAS chemicals, which have been linked to serious health risks, unless and until they're proven safe. And our advocacy is picking up momentum. We've submitted tens of thousands of messages from supporters like you to governors and corporations across the country in support of toxic chemical bans. * Stop the overuse of antibiotics. Livestock producers are routinely giving antibiotics to animals to help them survive unsanitary and overcrowded conditions. Overusing these drugs can result in bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics, threatening the future effectiveness of these medicines and putting our health at risk. That's why we're calling on major fast food chains to commit to stop buying meat raised on routine antibiotics -- and we're winning. So far, we've helped convince major chains such as Subway and KFC to stop the overuse of medically important antibiotics in their chicken supply chains, and we're pushing restaurants to do the same for all their meat.
