When I first decided to run for office, I was told I couldn’t win.

I had a strong track record of working to keep our country safe -- I served as a Navy helicopter pilot for ten years and as a federal prosecutor. But what I didn’t have were the resources to compete with my Republican opponent. And in a district that Trump won in 2016, I had a hard time convincing people I stood a chance.

That’s where VoteVets came in.

VoteVets supported me, even in the early days of my campaign when I was a serious longshot to win. And that early support made all the difference. I was able to invest in campaign infrastructure and hire the right staff so we could reach every single voter in my district.

Needless to say, I won my election, and now I represent New Jersey’s 11th district in Congress. And I couldn’t have gotten there without the support of organizations like VoteVets.

That’s why I am personally reaching out to ask:

VoteVets had my back. Now I want to have theirs. And I want to support their work to elect even more veterans like me up and down the ballot.

This is a very important fight. Especially with members of Congress still spreading Trump’s Big Lie about the election being stolen. We need our own team in Congress to stand up to them.
