People For Member,

This is a big deadline day for a lot of organizations and campaigns so
you’re probably getting a lot of emails.

At People For, this year’s mid-year deadline is especially important
because of how critical the month of July will be to our work to protect
the right to vote and push back against far-right extremists.

This coming month will be the most crucial time yet for our campaign to
save access to the ballot for millions of Americans – the fight in the
Senate to end the filibuster and pass the For the People Act, as well as
the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, will reach a crescendo with grassroots
events around the country, Senate hearings, and a full-court press in the
media and online.

Make no mistake, the Far Right plans to steal the next election by denying
voters – especially Black and Latino voters – their right to vote. We
cannot let that happen.

A Trump-obsessed far-right majority in either or both houses of Congress
would spell disaster for our progressive agenda and the vital reforms that
a majority of Americans voted for … but, more than that, if the attacks on
our democracy that the Far Right is pushing are able to take root, then
the will of the voters will be silenced for years to come. Democracy as we
know it is truly on the line.
