Tonight at 7 PM ET, on the final day of Pride month, we are thrilled that the Biden administration is hosting a convening on trans equality. NCTE has been working closely with this administration and we continue to be pleased by the support they have shown our community.
In fact, earlier today the Biden-Harris administration announced major policy changes in the US passport system to ensure that trans people have accurate passports. The US State Department will add an "X" gender marker to the ID document and eliminate the medical requirement for a person to change the gender marker on their passport. This is a huge step towards ensuring transgender Americans can more fully participate in public life.
