Like me, you’ve probably seen media reports that the Liberal Party has declared “electoral urgency” to speed up its election preparations.
The latest news is that the Prime Minister will send voters to the polls in the fall. All this speculation puts a lot of pressure on our party’s performance this summer. Voters, the other political parties, and especially the media will be looking at our end-of-quarter fundraising numbers to gauge where we stand.
I’m telling you this because the fundraising figures made public by Elections Canada in the next two weeks will determine how Canadians view our party and how much attention the media give our progressive policies as we head toward a possible election. And Canada needs Green voices in Parliament.
Our team is hard at work vetting candidates, training volunteers, and getting the tools together to run a COVID-responsible campaign. Now they just need you to show your support and enthusiasm for electing more Green MPs.
Today is the last day to make a gift which will count towards our first half of 2021. Please don’t delay. We’re launching into the next season with hope and a solid foundation for an election, and we need your help to meet our financial targets.
