With the Senate sitting right at 50-50, Democrats face a harsh reality: We're only one Senate seat away from losing our Senate majority. Democrats need to defend all our current incumbents AND expand our majority to make sure that we can continue to deliver progressive change for all four years of President Biden's first term. That means no missed opportunities in 2022, and it just so happens that we have at least four excellent chances to flip seats.
Republican senators are retiring in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Ohio, and Missouri in 2022. These are going to be our best opportunities to expand the slim Democratic majority. Open seats mean Republicans will be fighting themselves all the way through the primary -- giving Democrats critical time to prepare our nominees for the tough task ahead.
But the GOP knows this too, so they're investing big in voter suppression and misinformation. With 47 out of 50 states considering devastating voter suppression policies in their state legislatures, we're in for an uphill battle, and so we have to start climbing now.
That's why we launched our Save Our Senate fund. If Republicans win back the Senate, President Biden's progressive agenda will be over.
We have enough time to stop the GOP, team, but only barely. The Republican Party has had a record-breaking fundraising year, and we cannot afford to fall further behind.
