Jakelin suffered her father’s repeated assaults in silence — but she didn’t have to keep his secret for long. Her mother learned about this abuse, took Jakelin and her brothers out of the house and fled to the church.
Her mother reported her father to the local authorities, but Jakelin’s chances of ever seeing justice were slim.
