If there ever were a time to fact-check the fact-checkers, it is now, as histrionic reports about legislation banning Critical Race Theory in our public schools have taken over the media. Citizens who oppose Marxist indoctrination of their children are reflexively labeled racists, of course, when they raise their concerns, and they are getting used to it. Truth matters, though, and the hysteria must be challenged. As Conn Carroll describes, those who are criticizing states' push-back against CRT are completely misrepresenting what the bills actually do. We must be able to counter their inaccuracies with facts.
